- Pottery on Historic Farmstead -

Handmade pots are as timeless as the human community and incorporating them into daily life evokes a simpler time. Just as people are beginning to focus again on the source of their food in the fast-paced world so are they reconnecting to the value and beauty of everyday objects, made by hand, which sustain them. Fourteen outstanding Minnesota potters - Jan Bilek, Carl Erickson, Kirk Freeman, Steve Hemingway, Michael Howland, Peter Jadoonath, Diane Mallu, Ernest Miller, Dick Morse, Dyann Myers, Beth Ryan, Lynnea Schwieters, Marjorie Wade and Scott Zeinert - will show their wares and explore the universal connections created when their work passes from the maker to the user in a gesture of shared purpose and meaning.

The annual Rustic Road 13 Pottery Event and Sale, held at the historic St. Croix County farmstead of founder and potter, Beth Ryan, has continued to grow steadily the past eight years.
Both returning and first-time visitors describe the event as an "inspiring and informative experience". From the art-filled barn and potter's wheel and raku firing demonstrations throughout the weekend to stroll through the gardens and music in the air, visitors are able to explore this ancient craft through the eyes and hands of contemporary artists.

People of all ages are invited to come for a few hours or the whole day. Enjoy the drive and the autumn colors emerging across the wooded, hilly terrain of the St. Croix Valley and take this very special opportunity to reconnect to the simple pleasures of everyday living, and each other, through the potter's art.

The Rustic Road 13 Pottery Event and Sale is located on one of the numerous Rustic Road scenic drives in the state of Wisconsin at 1148 Troutbrook Road, Hudson, Wisconsin 54016. The hours of the event will be from 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 18th and from 11:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 19th. Participating artists will donate 10% of all sales to Second Harvest Heartland, a local partner in the nation's Food Bank Network.
